In 1959 , The formation of Gujarat Contractors Association took its final shape at AHMEDABAD (Gujarat). It is also now registered as a Charitable Trust & society with Charity Commisioner of Ahmedabad with No . F/11807/Ahmedabad. During this long period of 57 years, we have created huge assets in the state, such as roads, buildings, dams, bridges, canals, sports-stadiums, industrial-palnts, attracting huge investments and vast expansion of construction activities.

Construction as a business started getting recognition only in the early period of 20th century. Prior to that it was supposed to be jobs left to mason of carpenters to carry out house building and other civil works, gradually the scenario changed dramatically in the last 20 years. Simultaneously the complexity of processing and publishing of tenders, Evalution and award of contract as well as billing and payments process also increased. But right in time and idea of formation of Gujarat Association mooted, materialized and founded.

The recognition of our Gujarat Contractors Association as the representative body of contracting fraternity by Govt. of Gujarat and its various Boards, Nigams was a matter of proud for all of us. This was in the Year 1965. This made easy way for the Association for official representation on various issues. As the activities of the Association incresed, more and more contractors registered as the members of Association , from all parts of Gujarat and some from other states also.

All the members of Our Association Contributed : by way of devoting time, supporting and funding activities, our members always rose together-stood together to fight for justice. Our Association is THANKFULL TO YOU ALL.

During this period Builders' Association of India is having its head quarter at Mumbai. It has 93 centres all over India. The BAI is more visible in tackling the contractor's issues at Central Government. Department authorities and national level institutions and NGOs. Our Gujarat Contractors Association has become a life time member of builders Association of India in its affiliated category. Since then we are working together as a team with BAI.
